Non Plus Ultra
A video essay (13’13”) that intertwines the story of aliens in Conil de la Frontera from a TV5 archive, the creation myth of the Strait of Gibraltar, and a bronze plaque found in the anti-nuclear bunker where the Atlantis-2 submarine cable lands, the first fiber optic cable laid directly between Europe and South America. Drawing lines between science fiction, technology, and colonialism, it closes with a flamenco song of ida y vuelta (coming and going) performed by a flamenco dancer on the cable’s manhole cover.
