When Technology Becomes a Ruin on the Ocean Floor
A sound installation (14’00”) that combines samples from the deep sea and a poetic essay that I read at different points, discussing undersea cables as submarine colonial ruins. The sound takes the shape of a speculative sonic journey —a telepathic film of sorts— that engages with the possibility of interspecies communication and of water as an agent of knowledge, beyond a mere passive container for modernity’s infrastructures. Visitors could lie in hammocks specifically designed to immerse themselves in this fiction.
