A work of speculative fiction that examines the relationship between digital technologies and political systems in the context of Colombia. The script of the video is a combination of commercial ads on liquid democracy — a semi-digital political configuration —, Google’s “My Line” service that provided free internet access through landlines, the Colombian e-census, and cloud-bursting technologies of geo-engineering with philosophical reflections from different authors. Read from a TV studio, the protagonist John dialogues with his mother at the open ocean, the planet Mars, the Cauca river, and the Páramo highlands in Colombia. The project began as a four-channel video installation with a podium, chroma-blue backdrop, and a chroma-green flag and onesie, activated through the performative reading of the artwork’s script every day during its exhibition. The performance was recorded and edited into a single-channel video (14min).
